[blind-it] menu bar in MSWord 2007

Dear Listers
I hope this is not too much off topic. I try to assist a fellow blind
with MSWord 2007. I do not know the software but wee cannot get to the
menu bar and when we press alt-f we land on a multi tab page. Is this
normal for MSWord 2007? She specifically wants to get to the command
where she can do a word count of the document.
Can someone please give advice?
