Hi Richard and all,

I have been looking at this problem trying to figure it out.
Now after seeing the answer, I now know why I had such a hard time.
I had black's rook on f7 instead of f2!
A simple mistake, but one that makes a huge difference!
Oh well... just have to check things better next time, smiles.

Thanks for these problems, I always give them a look.

Chris

  Good Morning Puzzlers,

No takers again, are these problems too hard?

The best move is: 1... Qc4+

  Principle:
the white king is not currently in check, but is unable to move without being
in check.
Black must force the situation before White can open up his position.
the black queen moves to c4 checking White.
White is forced to capture with the Knight 2. Nxc4
And Black mates with 2... bxc4#
