Weird. What program are you using? I've opened txt
files as rtf files and saved them as that--after using
Stuffit expander to get them out of the gobbledegook
that they downloaded as.

Txt won't save hard page breaks or font changes like
italics and bold. If you cann't get Norton out of txt
to Word or rtf, then you might be saved from having to
work on it and maybe Katie will. Were you validating
it in txt before?

On the other hand, while it might seem like an escape
from working on a 2227-page book, sans index, think
what you'll be missing: The Epic Gilgamesh, the Iliad,
the Odyssey, he Aeneid, the Koran, the Divine
Comedy--how many years has it been since you've read
those? smile
