Thanks for that info. I guess the default settings in my copy are okay, because I've never touched those settings and I haven't had any of the kinds of problems you describe. I will check them out and see what they are. But I doubt I will change them, because they seem to be fine the way they are.

There are settings for how it opens various file types (rtf brl and text) and how kurzweil saves the files.
