I personally think part of the thing we need to deal with culturally these
days is the fact that people are training each other to be
rude. Unfortunately, adults train thildren to be rude unless they model
courtesy and decent behavior for them. It somehow has become cool and a
demonstration of personal power to be difficult and nasty. I truly think
some people have lost touch with style and elegance as demonstrated by
basic human good manners.
On top of that, we let each other get away with it and fail. And all that
nastiness just is so toxic to live around.
The story I told happened years and years ago. Unfortunately, the day to
day rudeness of folks may not be coming out in outright discrimination but
grace elegance and courtesy still seems to have declined since the time of
my story (grump grump grin)
