I like it the way you've written it here. No space for multiplication and division signs, but spaces around the equals sign.

Reading in braille, this looks the most natural to me.

If I'm interpreting your equation correctly, it looks fine to me as is. Is
it to be interpreted verbally as:
A times r over (divided by) Twelve equals W

If that is the intended verbalization, I think it's perfect as you have it.

I would like to know what is the correct way to format mathematical
formulas. Particular, should you leave a space before and after the * in
multiplication, and also should you have a space for an after an = ?

I don't know how these come out in braille readers and screen readers.

A*R/12 = w

How would you format the above equation?
