Hi Cindy,
Yes, they should be numbered. It all depends on what the first Roman numeraled
page is. If it is i, then anything before that must have uppercase Roman
numerals. If the lowercase Roman numerals start with something greater than i,
(which they often do), then just use lowercase Roman numerals backwards until
you get to i and then number anything left over with uppercase Roman numerals.
The easy rule to remember is, every pagebreak in a Bookshare book must have a
page number. If the actual print book doesn’t have them on certain pages, such
as inside flaps, back cover, title page, copyright page, dedication page, et
cetera, then extrapolate from the page numbers you do have and put them in.

Many thanks Evan and Roger; what you've said has always been my opinion so
I'll include them in my "revised" proof. But -- have you ever heard of
numbering them with upper case roman numerals? that's what the administrator
who returned my proof to me ( wants me to do; I've never done that before;
just identified them in closed brackets : e.g. [front cover[ front flap etc.
they appear before the book is even opened and before the lower case roman
numeral numbered pages start. and wouldn't be counted as the total of pages
in the book because they aren't *in* the book; well, if he/she wants me to do
it I will I can always remove themif I'mtold to later; I did write to ask but
so far no answer.

One problem with inside flaps and back covers is that the font and/or the

worth the trouble.
Every case is unique. Generally, I do make some effort to get as much of that
info as I can.

I don't think the dust jacket information is necessary at all, but a lot of
readers appreciate it if it contains a synopsis. So I do include it when
scanning. However, if it contains nothing but the title and author I don't
think I would bother with that.

The title and author's name appear on the title page that's inside the
book so maybe the cover &flap info aren't necessary; I think I won't bother
putting them in the revision unless people want them
