HI Jamie,
I do believe you are right. Even with some of the advances in most areas
women are still treated as lesser than men. I am fortunate in that where I
work there are many female managers. My gut feeling is that there is a very
large lesbian population in Oregon and at least from what I know there are a
number of lesbian women in management positions. IN a way they look out for
their own.
What part of Michigan are you from. I grew up in Royal Oak and live for
about 20 years in the Ypsilanti Ann Arbor area.

I think you're right on about political correctness.
I find the work world to be a tougher place for women
than it is for men, but maybe people who are blind
have been discriminated against equally (gender not
making any difference)?
Here in Michigan, you know, we just struck down
affirmative action in many areas including public
universities. I can only think that this law passed
because people did not understand the ballot proposal,
and thought that by voting yes they were voting to
KEEP affirmative action, when in reality they were
voting to do away with it if they voted yes.
It will be interesting to see the repercussions from
that one, when they hit.
