Also, I strongly suggest that frequent posters remember that it is not actually necessary to reply to every single message in a thread. If you have something to add to several different people, just consolidate your comments into one message, perhaps adding their names in the subject line for clarity. I checked my email about four hours ago, and when I came back just now I had 16 messages from just one person (not naming any names!) and that's ridiculous.

Perhaps a few of you out there aren't realizing that more than 90% of the messages the last few days have been classified off topic.

Personally I don't mind a little chatter every now and then, but when more than a quarter of the messages are off topic they need to be taken elsewhere as it detracts from the value of the list.

Some on list complain that John doesn't timely respond to inquiries on this list, and John freely admits that during high mail volume he gets behind. If for no other reason, please slow down so he can keep up.
