Yes, all chapter titles or numbers or headings need to be formatted. However, for bookshare purposes, that means putting it in bold and 16 pt, not heading 1 style.

Hi Roger,

I mean like chapter headings. For example,

If the book has:

Chapter 1: Welcome in my world

That's just a fake example. Does that need to be put in heading
format??? Sorry if I confused everyone... Thank you for your help...

If someone can tell me why this keeps happening please let me know.
Occasionally about the first line of my email gets cut off and it
happened this time. My message should have started out with, what do you
mean by chapter heading? Do you mean chapter title? If that is the case
then it is unlikely that there will be some chapters with titles and
others without chapter titles in a single book.

Perhaps some did not scan. Do you mean chapter numbers? If that is the
case you should consider the chapter number to be the chapter heading
and bold and enlarge it. If there are no chapter numbers or titles
then I think we are supposed to add the chapter numbers ourselves. Let
someone else speak to that, though, because I am not sure.

Hello Marty,

Thank you for that. That was part of my question. But what if there
is no heading in every chapter??? Do we need to have it be there for
bookshare proofing requirements???? If so, how can?? I got half of
my question answered. Thank you Marty!!!!!

Hi Nimit,
Do you mean changing the style and size of chapter headings?
If you
do,

you can do this:
Go to the beginning of the line, hold down shift and hit down arrow to
select the heading.
Then hold down alt and O., then F for the font menu.
Tab once for the style (you want Bold)
Tab again for size (you want 16)
I hope this is what you want. HTH!
Marty
Then hit enter.

Hi Everyone,

I am proofreaiding a book and I wasn't sure if we are supposed to put
headings on every chapter???? Are we?? If so, anybody use jaws 12
with Ms. 2007???? I go to the menu by pressing Alt and then I press
enter on Home tab and then I have to tab over to find styles and then
tab over to heading level 1... I don't like to go through too many
menues. I have been taught so many hotkeys with jaws, so does anybody
know a hotkey with Jaws 12 to put the headings properly. That's what
I have been doing and honestly, I don't even know if that's right...
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
