You know what Lori? Now that I read it here, I think I remember doing this, too. Thank you for posting it here. Hopefully I'll remember for next time!

This action would remove whatever was causing the false soft page break. The soft page break seemed to occur right after the last character on the page. I did not see any weird character with "show all" turned on, but there must be something. I am not guaranteeing this will work in all situations, but it helped me today--big pain though. Lori who gets all sorts of spellings for her name--it is really Loralee which I avoid like the plague! -----Original Message----- From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Mayrie ReNae Sent: Wednesday, September 12, 2012 11:26 AM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Problem with soft page breaks Hi Marty and Laurie, Sue had the same problem with a book that I scanned. All I did was exactly what Marty did. So, just another "You're not alone," message. I really don't know why it happens; I wish I did. I have been able to delete the soft page breaks sometimes. On one book, I had to take two pages (one before and one after the offending soft page breaks) out of my book file, copy them into a new file, clean them up by deleting the offenders, and then put the two pages back in my original book file. I figure that there must be an easier way. Hopefully someone here knows what it is. Meantime, I wanted you to know that you're not alone! Marty -----Original Message----- From: Lori Castner Sent: Tuesday, September 11, 2012 7:35 PM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Problem with soft page breaks I am proofreading with Windows 7 and Word Office 2010 and am encountering a problem which I have not had before. When I get to the bottom of a page, and sometimes at the top I have needed to add a return before the first line of text or before or after a page number at the bottom of the page. On many pages, when I add a return I get a soft page break. I have changed the page length to 22 inches, all side and top and bottom margins are set at one inch. Also, I have checked to be sure that the white space above and below each paragraph is set at zero. Is there any other way to remove white space? I know that soft page breaks are not a problem for the translator, but they are a problem for me, simply because I find them confusing. Does anyone have any idea why this problem is occurring and even more important has to solve it? Thanks. Lori C.
