Sue,
This sounds vaguely (but only vaguely) similar to a problem a proofer
had with one of my scans where I left the page length set to something
relatively short (like maybe 6 inches). Perhaps setting a longer page
length will help with your problem as well. At least I can't imagine how
it could hurt to try.
