For purposes of accuracy, I really am appreciative if I can have a good friendly correspondence with the submitter. That being said, I'm not the sort who would harass a submitter (I have heard horror stories of that thing occurring and can understand why someone would prefer to retain their anonymity.) The correspondence allows me to ask questions about the book I'm working on. Regards, Kim Friedman. -----Original Message----- From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Scott Rains Sent: Wednesday, November 17, 2010 3:38 PM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Privacy between volunteers in Bookshare Volunteers, When you registered as a volunteer you were given the choice to be totally anonymous (invisible) to other volunteers. This has proven to be problematic, for example, when a proofreader needs to get in touch with a scanner. Shortly some revisions to the volunteer sign up process will eliminate that option for new volunteers. That will not change your settings as existing volunteers. However, if you chose to remain anonymous in this way when you registered we urge you to consider changing that setting in your profile. When volunteers are able to contact each other directly about scanning and proofing issues things go so much smoother.
