Hi, Valerie, with regard to the social science type, you'd use a line within
parentheses, but for literary footnoting, I never saw brackets or
parentheses. I have no idea how superscript numbers or subscript numbers
would appear in Braille. Sometimes if there was an explanatory note, I'd
encounter them either after the particular paragraph, at the bottom of the
page, or in the footnote section at the back of the book. In this instance,
I don't recall parentheses. If a footnote was numbered, everything
(explanation, citation, etc.) would appear directly after the number on the
same line. Regards, Kim. P.S.: Others who are a dab hand about footnoting,
please correct me if I'm incorrect. K.

Do you mean to enter the full footnote text in the brackets, or just the
words [footnote text:] amnd then what is on the page with attributions on a
new line and that below it?

braille translator, but if not I hope one of the blind proofreaders who is
experienced in doing this will chime in. Smile.
