Most of you are too young (not us, though, George,
right?)to remember listening to the radio--though if
you are blind and listen to the tv without the
descriptions it's probably the same--although in the
early days of television there was more talk and
action. I used to be able to knit and know what was
going on in the story; now I have to watch.

But I digress. Those of us who are old enough used to
spend Saturdays listening to the radio--as well as to
soap operas when we were sick. Let's Pretend was fairy
stories and such. How disappointed I was when our Girl
Scout troop went to the show and all I saw were actors
standing before a microphone acting. Sigh.

Even now I prefer not to go to movies after I've read
a book from which the movie was made. The characters
and scenery don't match what I created in my
imagination.

G. Cindy
