Hi Kelby,

If you go to the bookshare site, and then the "volunteer home" page,
(assuming you are signed up as a volunteer) look there for a link called
"scanning and proofreading manual". In there are tips for both scanning and
proofreading using Kurzweil 1000 version 11. Those are the most concise
instructions that I know about.

Happy scanning!

Mayrie

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] OT: Kurzweil and Google Books

Dear Booksharians,

I just received my copy of Kurzweil 1000 for personal use. I am wondering
if anybody has general tips on scan/recognition settings to make the raw
scans come out as good and clean as possible. I am a new user, so I have no
idea what works and what doesn't. Any assistance is much appreciated.
