Dear Shelley,

Those are great tips from a veteran traveler.

Who do you ask where your dog should go pottie?

Always with love,

Lissi

Smile, hi Laurel,

That is when I call someone up from Room Service.

Or else go over it when I get into the hotel room, along with the.

1. How to adjust the heat/AC
2. How to shut off the alarm on the alarm clock, bad experience of the darn thing going off at like midnight, smile. And not being able to shut it off.
3. What are the free samples.
4. And where are the outlets,

Smile.

OK, so I was in my hotel room, and I was desperately hunting for an
electrical outlet. I had a Pacmate and a cell phone to charge, and a
cassette player that I wanted to plug in.

Try as I might, I couldn't find electrical outlets in the usual places, such
as along the wall just above the floor. I did find one in the bathroom,
where the hair dryer and razor were plugged in, but I knew there had to be
more somewhere. After all, this room had advertised itself as network
capable, so there must be a place to plug in your laptops, right?

Well, try as I might, I couldn't find one. Even the lamps seemed hard-wired
into something, with their cords disappearing beneath the carpet and their
"plugs" wired directly into a connector.

So where were my electrical outlets? I didn't want to ask anyone from the
group I was in, because I was trying to appear at least a little
independent, but while I was talking to a friend from home, he told me that
the outlets were often on the tables.

I didn't quite believe him, but as it turned out, the outlets I found were
in the base of the lamp that was sitting on one of my tables.

What a bizarre place for electrical outlets?

I only tell this tale because I figure there may be others out there who
didn't realize that the electrical outlets might be in the lamps. Hope this
helps someone someday.

Lora
