Hello,

It is a documented occurrence with Kurzweil 1000 version 11 that if you have the setting "ignore suspicious regions" turned on, you will likely have blocks of recurring text. I find that optimizing well, and turning off this setting does leave me with more junk characters to remove, but keeps me from having to remove repeated text which is sometimes inconveniently, not complete pages. Also, headers are often removed when ignoring suspicious regions. You would think this helpful, but sometimes, chapter headings are also ignored, and you can't figure out where they went.

A little tip that I discovered helps me a lot. Very often, pages on which chapters begin do not contain the running header of the book, either author's name, or title of the book at the top of the page. I often go through the book before removing headers and make sure that all chapter headings are present by making sure that pages without headers do have chapter headings and that there are no chapter numbers missing. Just my habit.

Peace,
Mayrie

If a book has pages that are scrambled, then yes, please reject it. Submitters should have all of the pages in numerical order when they submit books (along with other requirements of course).

Should we take this as reason to reject such books in the future?
