Hi Melissa!

Thanks so much for explaining your search technique on books.google.com. I have been keeping track of the scanos I fine to ask for help on them all at once. I was able to correct most of them by following your instructions, so I will have a few less to ask about. The scan is good, so there aren't many without your help, but less with it.

Kathy, I can't help you with this passage, but I can explain a little about the other. I've not tried Amazon peak myself, as I understand you need to be sighted. However, I've used google books several times. You can get there by http://books.google.com or by going to the main google site and clicking on books. Once there, I have found the best results are found by searching for the book's title in quotes followed by a plus sign, followed by the passage for the book that you are looking for. Example: "Daring Rescue At Sonora Pass" + Drew turned away and watched the desert floor as the wagon raced north. Books on google books are available either in full text, limited preview, or snippet view. Books with limited preview or snippet view will have some pages whose content is restricted. If the passage you are looking for is on a page that is restricted, the search results will tell you that this page is restricted.

I hope this was helpful.

I'm stuck again. This time, it's with Daring Rescue at Sonora Pass by Stephen Bly. There is a place where parts of sentences are left off at the bottom of page 92. It reads as follows:

The broken shaft of an arrow poked out from the bloody leg wound.

Drew turned away and watched the desert floor as the wagon raced north.

-ooted back by Blaze and Drew. "Are they

Then, after the page break, it continues normally on page 93 with

"I reckon so," Drew said. "I don't see them."

I tried to use the Google books site and the Amazon Peak yesterday, but, apparently, one needs to be signed up with both, have an account, or something, and I don't. I will and do appreciate the help you all are so generously giving.

I've been off list for quite a while, and have just come back. All my mail from the list suddenly started bouncing, and I was apparently unsubscribed by the computer. I got back on for one day, and the same thing happened again. I think I have it straightened out now, since this is the third day I've been getting mail. All that wandering is to say that I missed the information about Google Books and Amazon Peak. Could someone give me some information about it, please?

Thank you.

Kathy
