Katie, I'm trying to remember exactly what Gustavo has said about books from other countries. From what I remember, I believe he said that as long as a book is scanned in the U.S., they'll accept it, so I doubt that's your problem. I tried looking for your book on the Step 1 page to see if I could determine what Gustavo might be unsure about, but the book isn't there. HI Gerald, Okay, thinking after I posted this I had another book kicked back for copyright and the thing they both had in common is the book was copyrighted in Canada and printed in the U.S. Is there some kind of issue with Canadian copyrights? Katie, It's difficult to say what the best way is to handle this situation because it almost depends on each individual circumstance. Since it doesn't sound like you know who the validator was, you can hope they're on the list and will contact you about the problem so you can help provide proof that the copyright info has been filled in correctly and they can reupload their validation. You could go the route of writing to Gustavo, but I'm not sure that would be the best way to go since someone can grab it in the meantime without understanding the problem. I grabbed a book last month to fix because Gustavo had kicked it back three times, but the scan required work, and I needed the book from the library in order to clean it up. I lost track of when I downloaded it and found it expired the day I went to renew it. Someone else grabbed it, and I only hope they understand that Gustavo needed the title corrected before he could approve it. I considered just uploading the submission as it was and asking him to process one of the other uploads with my corrected submission form, but I think that might require him to have to jump through more hoops than just revalidating the book might have. I guess you also have the option of downloading the book, rejecting it with an explanation of what you're doing, then resubmitting it with proof/assurance about the copyright info in the comments field of the submission form. That way, no matter who validates it the next time, your message about the copyright info would be part of the comment history. That's the only way I know of getting it in there other than validating it yourself or getting someone you know to validate it for you and including the information. As for what to include in the comments to help get Gustavo to approve the book, I believe Grace added my suggestions from a previous message to Jake's website, so I'm not including any suggestions in this message. Sorry this isn't much help. HI GangJ What do people suggest when this happens. I submitted the book The Final Warning. It was downloaded and validated by someone and then kicked back to the step one download page with a note to check the copyright. I've checked the copyright so what do I do now. Send a note explaining the copyright verification? Leave it there for someone to revalidate with the new copyright info or ???
