Indeed! Do we have someone designated yet to refurbish part one? Thanks!

Great! But the scanning is the easy part. It's the inevitable necessary fixing up that takes the time. These books are complex. Fortunately, it looks as though fans will be doing it, so it will be done right. It will be a labor of love - always the best kind of labor.

That sounds like a fabulous idea! Volume one is in pretty horrific shape. If I can get ahold of a print copy, I'd even be willing to rescan the whole thing.

Do you know that there are twelve volumes in all in the History of Middle-Earth series? Book of Lost Tales Part One and Two are just the first two volumes. Lissi and I had discussed starting a project to eventually get them all up on Bookshare - starting with Part One, as it is not in good shape. If we can get some more Tolkien enthusiasts who are willing to go through these with a fine-toothed comb as we plan to, I hope you will be interested in perhaps helping with future volumes. I have read the first two from NLS, but they apparently gave up on the series after that. So from volume three onward, I hope to scan and read through several at least in the process of getting them added to the collection.

You can certainly validate it. I tend to read through a book and clean it up before submission, but you can be the first to read it. It's great to find a fellow Tolkien enthusiast! Do you use aim or MSN messenger? Perhaps we can chat.

Dear Allison

I am writing to ask you to consider keeping me in mind to validate The Book of Lost Tales part 2 as long as I can find an identical edition to the one you are scanning. I have a high regard for and great love of Tolkien and would validate with great care.

Always with love,

Lissi

Hi all!
I know I said that I was going to be scanning another Bertrice Small novel, and I will get to that, but I picked up a copy of The book of lost tales part 2 today. We only have part one on the site, so I am going to start scanning it as soon as possible.
