Did anyone else on here grow up reading the Beany Malone books about a family of teenagers and there friends set in the 1940s? They were published in the early 70s and were very popular then. I have stumbled upon a copy of one of the books on Paperback Swap and am going to scan it for Bookshare. I found Leave It To Beany. There are no titles by Lenora Mattingly Weber on Bookshare at all. NLS has most of the series, but I know NLS won't transfer these over when they do the transition to digital books because they're older books and probably aren't considered fast movers anymore. That's a shame because they gave me so much pleasure as a teenager. Our times may be different, but I'll bet they'd bring a smile to a modern teen's face too. The issues those kids face isn't so very different from what kids face now, though it may seem that way on the surface. If any of you see books by this author at book sales, please snag them for me. I'll gladly reimburse you and will scan them for Bookshare as well. I don't care if their spines are taped up or if the cover is messed up as long as the pages are intact. I'm also thrilled to see that Amazon is selling the books in a new printing. I'll be buying as much of the series as I can over the next few months. If I try hard enough, maybe I'll forget enough of the stories to make them seen new again. (grin)
