Shelley! This is great news! (big smile) The books are fun, and some of your students may end up liking them. I hope the library has taken care of them to some degree. Meet The Malones is the first book in the series, and it's great for girls around 10 to 14, or grades 6 to 9 according to NLS. Lenora Mattingly Weber took on some tough issues in her books, issues that weren't usually discussed in public at that time. She dealt honestly with things like date rape, shoplifting, step-parents, alcoholism, racism, and even death of loved ones. Of course, there are also the more pressing matters like finding the courage to talk to your first crush, worrying about getting a dent in your stepmother's new car, and trying to fit in with the cool kids in school. (grin) That's why I think the books are still relevant to girls today, and I hope they're something our younger members will like. I am so excited about finding them again. They were out of print for so long, and my library had lost its copies or sold them in book sales. Reading the books will be like getting reacquainted with old and cherished friends. (smile)

I can get about eight of her books from Noble Net,

I found Meet the Malones, and put a hold on it, it is in storage so I
wonder, smile what shape it is going to be in.

But we can give it a try.

Lets coordinate efforts, smile.
