Hi Larry,

I haven't seen this one but suspect that it was generated by my grumpy message of this morning. I was put out by the fact that Young Al didn't sign his posts so that I was unable to address him in any other way than by hollering "Hey you!"

I have also been plagued today by having my email coming through in dribs and drabs and all higgledy-piggledy.

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I do like to observe the common courtesies of human interaction.

I don't know who generated this message, whether Al or his boss or whatever, but it seems to be a response to my grumpy letter of this morning.

Just in case Sensations is listening, in whichever persona, the list is owned by Bookshare. It is moderated by Madeleine Linares. She is the listowner, and there is no voting on list policy here. What she says goes.

As for how email's should be constructed, I was only requesting the common courtesy which is the Hallmark of good email netiquette, that is that in email, you start out with a greeting of some kind, then you follow your post with a signature so that others on the list know to whom to address comments. This doesn't need to be voted on, this is common netiquette.

This list is a worldwide list for the purpose of communication between volunteers for Bookshare. As such, there are people on this list from age fourteen on up. We come from many countries and backgrounds. Common courtesy is necessary when writing email here. Although I'm not the listowner, I'm sure that Madeleine will agree with me.

Ann P.
