Like most of you, I have tried to stay warm today. But, like most of you, I also ventured outdoors to fill the bird feeders. Then I spent the rest of the day watching the feeders from indoors. Snow-6", temp. 10/19 Foods included: peanut butter, suet cakes, black oil sunflower seeds, Niger thistle seeds, Nat'l Geographic Special finch mixture, sunflower seed chips, etc. Birds: Northern Mockingbird, Red-bellied Woodpecker, male and female Downy woodpeckers, American Goldfinches (20+), Eastern Towhees, Dark-eyed Junco (1), Mourning Doves (14+), WT Sparrows, Song Sparrows, House Finches, N Cardinals, Titmouse (8). C Chickadee (6), Blue Jay (7), C Wren, RC Kinglet, etc. Last night I heard the BARRED OWL!
