I found out today that the city of Richmond wants to turn Camp Catalpa park/bird sanctuary into an RV park. If anyone from the Richmond area is interested, I'll provide contact info for the person
fighting the proposal. I've lived here over 3 years, and I'd always thought that place was a gated, private concern. I walked it today--a very lovely, unique 15 acres against the lake.
Not a lot going on birdwise. At Owsley: pied-billed grebe, bufflehead, ring-necked, mallard, coot. At Reba: horned grebe, mallard, ring-necked, coot--other water birds too too far away....
