Hi All. For three days we have had a Red-tailed Hawk screeching for long lengths of time over the hollow and our house. Previously there was one rather silent hawk, then two five days ago, then four today. Les and I were wondering if all the screeching was being done to lure young ones out to soar. We know that the pair of hawks usually always breeds on the ridgetop above us, but we do not remember so much screeching going on. Any explanations? Thanks, Joan of Art and Nature, Happy Valley South Williamson, Ky Pike Co. ================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBERS============== The BIRDKY Mailing List requires you to sign your messages with first & last name, city, & state abbreviation. -------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, send e-mail to: birdky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send e-mail to: birdky-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject line. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the Kentucky Ornithological Society web site at http://www.biology.eku.edu/kos.htm * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * BIRDKY List Manager: Gary Ritchison, Richmond, KY E-mail: gary.ritchison@xxxxxxx
