I take my camera with me every morning of the world, unless it’s raining. Today
it was still raining a little when I made my morning farm circle. I’ve had the
same set of birds coming to my woods food offerings for months anyway. This
morning, as soon as I emptied my food bottles, a Red-headed Woodpecker alit low
on a nearby tree, waiting for me to back away from the food. I think I saw all
of one Red-headed Woodpecker on this place all of last year and it was
immature. Today’s visitor had a bright red head. I doubt if the regulars were
too happy to see it, but I was.
