There were 4 Common Mergansers on the horseshoe lake today--2 male and 2 female. I also saw an American Woodcock that flushed up while I was walking around the lake--the 2nd one I've seen in 2 weeks. Funny how sometimes you go for years trying to see a "nemesis" bird, and then they seem to be everywhere all of the sudden! Other interesting birds today: Bonaparte's Gull Green-winged Teal Greater Yellowlegs Snow Goose
