Highlights: Wood Tract at Sauerheber along KY 268: 1 Lesser Yellowlegs, 6-8 Least Sandpipers, 10 Pectoral Sandpipers, 5 Dunlin. Nice array of common waterfowl including at least 110 Northern Pintail. No geese or swans. Horseshoe Road Slough (you have to take *great* care not to frighten the waterfowl here -- and everywhere for that matter ... we parked down the road and eased back on foot until everybody got nervous): 118 Tundra Swans; 500? Snow Geese; at least 2 Ross's Geese; 75 Greater White-fronted Geese; common dabblers; a few Lapland Longspurs. Elsewhere in county: several nice groups of dabblers in traditional sloughs including along J. Dance Road and West Franklin Road. Probably at least 350 Northern Pintail seen total; several Redheads, 50-75 American Wigeon. One to a few Tree Swallows at a few places. bpb, Eddie Huber, Steve & Teresa Graham ================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBERS============== When posting on BIRDKY, please close posts with your first and last name and your address (city or county). * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To post on BIRDKY, send e-mail to: birdky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the KOS website at http://www.biology.eku.edu/kos/default.htm * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the KOS Photo Page to view photos of birds recently sighted in Kentucky: http://www.flickr.com/groups/kentucky_ornithological_society/pool * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To unsubscribe, send e-mail to: birdky-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject line. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * BIRDKY List Manager: Gary Ritchison.
