Hi all, This evening there was a pair of American Golden Plover hanging out with the Killdeer on the hatchery ponds. Outside of that, the only other shorebirds I could find were a handful of Pectoral Sandpipers, a single Least and a single Spotted Sandpiper. It looks like shorebirds are winding down already... A second pleasant surprise was a Nelson's Sparrow that flushed out of the weeds along one of the undrained ponds. I managed to chase it up a few more times, and clearly saw the ammodramus body shape, as well as an orange buffy color on the face and flanks. Good birding, Brian Wulker Morehead KY ================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBERS============== When posting on BIRDKY, please close posts with your first and last name and your address (city or county). * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To post on BIRDKY, send e-mail to: birdky@xxxxxxxxxxxxx * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the KOS website at http://www.biology.eku.edu/kos/default.htm * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the KOS Photo Page to view photos of birds recently sighted in Kentucky: http://www.flickr.com/groups/kentucky_ornithological_society/pool * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * To unsubscribe, send e-mail to: birdky-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject line. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * BIRDKY List Manager: Gary Ritchison.
