I have not had much luck on the few outings I have managed this fall here in the bluegrass area. I am bummed to hear the migration is slowing. I did have an interesting sighting yesterday on my way to Raven Run here in Fayette Co. As my wife will attest, I spend most of my time driving looking at something other than the road before me. I was looking left when I saw a Red-tail, wings curled back, zeroed in on me. As I passed out of its line of flight, the hawk sailed grille high across the road and slammed talon first into the fence/hedge on the other side the road. I was surprised my presence wasn't enough to interfere with it's objective, and couldn't help but wonder the outcome if I had been seconds slower. No the hawk didn't catch what ever it was.
