Two Swallow-tailed Kites have been present near Harvey in Marshall County for a
week or more. The report was entered into eBird yesterday. Steve and Teresa
Graham have resighted the birds this morning. They were in view on the north
side of Tom Lane Road west of the jct. with KY 1949. The eBird marker is mapped
too far west down Tom Lane Road.
They have permission from Gloria Birtell to watch for the birds from her back
yard, which is at 1082 Tom Lane Road. You should email Gloria at
(gloria.mae.birtell@xxxxxxxxx) or leave a txt (270 205 1977) just so she knows
your car will be in the driveway.
Keep in mind that S-t Kites are virtually impossible to find unless the weather
is conducive to foraging, so if weather closes in with storms or low clouds,
they likely will not be viewable. Tomorrow's weather sounds bad and there is
30-40% chance of storms this afternoon.
