Watching the female MS Kite this morning changing dead tree top perches now and
then, suspected changing locations watching for large flying insects. I heard a
cicada next door making a cicada distress call. The MS kite about, 100 yds.
away, evidently heard the same call, she immediately flew in the direction of
the call crossing the street and flying over the house next door, then swooped
down fast over the back lawn area then flew back near me carrying a large
insect. Flew to the wooded area where I suspect a nest is located. I checked
that area not long ago for a nest but did not find, seems I need to check
again. The male was perched in that area and left to do some kiting over the
residential area. I saw three kites in that area a few days ago and suspected
one fledged young.
