We spent 90 minutes in the Horntown Rd area of Grayson County, looking for
short-eared owls. We saw 9 harriers hunting over the owl field, with most of
them in view at once. Right at dusk, two owls appeared as well. A flock of
Brewer's blackbirds continues in the area. A monstrous line of mostly-grackles
went over; 10,000 birds is probably a serious undercount.
