Hi Jennifer -- I genrefied the middle school books earlier this year, and
I'm really glad that I did, since students can find what they're looking
for -- or browse -- more easily.
A customer service rep at Follett was able to run our title list through a
program (I couldn't do it on my end) that listed the primary and secondary
genres of each book. I bought genre stickers for the spines. Also, when it
doubt, I have consulted the genre tags in Goodreads for some guidance.
I hope to do the upper school novels next year.
Good luck,
Amy

Hi there,
Wondering if I could get some insight from those of you who have already
been through the process of genrefying or moving towards a "bookstore"
model for your collection.
How did you approach the project? - i.e. one section or category at a
time? summer or during school year? How much assistance did you need?
Did you use a model for deciding on categories, sections, etc. or your own
judgement?
Sorry this is a lot to ask, but any insights are appreciated.
Happy almost end of the school year!
All the best,
