http://homepage.mac.com/gregaskins/PhotoAlbum8.html The skies were actually clear here in Chandler Sunday evening, so I tried connecting my new ToUcam up to my ETX-125 and iBook for the first time. At high powers the seeing did not seem very stable, but I was still able to get some relatively clear frames for stacking and Photoshop manipulation (north is up). Compare my image above with the computer-generated image here: http://skyandtelescope.com/observing/objects/planets/article_985_1.asp I think I was observing/recording approximately the same part of Mars. BTW, look how small the Southern polar cap is predicted to be at the end of August. My reds are probably too pronounced (I'm going to play some more with stacking and Photoshop), but it was a LOT of fun to produce a reasonable image of Mars with a $100 webcam!
