Hi,
This is an image of M94, also known as NGC 4736. It is a barred spiral
galaxy about 16 million light years away in the constellation Canes
Venatici. This galaxy has an inner and outer ring structure. The inner ring
is a strong star formation region and can be seen as the blue ring structure
in the picture. The outer ring measures over 600 arcseconds in diameter and
is actually a complex structure of spiral arms.
Comments and suggestions appreciated.
