The rocket staging was my first thought, though looking at it more I am not
sure.

Lens reflection sounds good to me, guys. It also has a bit of a resemblance
to a rocket booster venting unused fuel after putting a bird in orbit.

Hi,
A friend of mine sent me a picture taken by her brother while camping. You
can see it here
http://www.azstarman.net/meteor.jpg
Does anyone know what this is? My guess is he captured a meteor just as it
was exploding in the atmosphere. If I am not mistaken, I think that may also
be M31 just to the left of the object. I would be interested in what others
think. I think the dude has an APOD on his hands if this is what I think it
is.
Thanks,
Bernard
