As I recall, whenever White Sands had a missile launch, they did report it,
even if after the fact.
When the facts don't add up, we just have to say we don't know, at least for
the time being.
Thanks, Kevin, for your earlier post.

Hi, Bill.
How often does the military lie to us? Every time they want to keep a secret.

Subject: [AZ-Observing] Contrails from a fireball?
Come to think of it, in my 50 years of studying and observing the sky, I've
seen about 15 Really Bright Fireballs. Absolutely none of them had any sort
'contrail'. They did have a very short lived trail of very light vapor-like
smoke that lasted less than 30 seconds at the very longest.
The 'contrails' that were in the morning sky after the meteor vanished were in
the very same location as all the other 'contrails' that I've seen in the sky
from the White Sands Missile Range. I did not see the contrails in the same
location as I saw the meteor this morning. The contrails were about five
degrees north of the location in which I saw the beginning of the fireball.
They did not come from the fireball meteor, they must have been from a missile
which was launched a good deal earlier than 4am.
No, the contrails seen this morning Were Not the result of the fireball, they
were from a missile, folks. Bill, I agree with you. Tom, I read your posting
attachment.
Thanks,
Kevin
