Righto a few "facts" about the East coast of Australia. Sydney. Less than two hours to some of the best rock climbing, canyoning, bushwalking, mountain biking and stuff in Australia. 5 hours from the Snowy. Include sailing and surfing too. No tech writing work. Melbourne. 4 hours from some of the best climbing. In the world. 4 hours from the snowy. It has a Grand Prix. It has good shopping. Both have good eating... Actually I would say the best eating out in the world. Bar none. Canberra. Cycling and politicians. Hmm. Not looking good. But only 2 hours from snowy. Good roads. All the better to get out of there... All of them have access to the best wine and groceries in the world. Hey, who cares. Been there, seen that, and stepped in, around or over every horror imaginable. I'll take Australia any day! Vancouver. The only city in the world I know of where you can go white water paddling into the city and have a beer and pizza before heading back to pick up your car... Less than 2 hours from some of the best mountaineering in the world. Not cheap. Close to America. (Real bummer; but what if it was attached to Australia?) We really are the lucky country, especially when we get a socialist government back in power... And export Little Johnny Arthur as a special consulting lap dog for Gorge W Bushwacker. -----Original Message----- From: austechwriter-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:austechwriter-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Michael Edward Granat Sent: Friday, February 06, 2004 2:23 PM To: austechwriter@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: atw: O.T. (sometimes cap.) Slang. a mildly offensive word used by Australians and New Zealanders for an English person. Sometimes shortened to pom. [C20: of uncertain origin.
