From that same link we get Participation rate For any group, the labour force expressed as a percentage of the civilian population aged 15 years and over in the same group. Our participation rate, even with the stupidly skewed definition of employed, is 65%. To my casual eye, it appears as if 35% are not even falling under the broad category of employed. Sure sure, we have pensioners, chronically ill and so on. This is roughly countered by the people who are counted as employed who are not really. Thus the true unemployment rate could be as high as 35%. 1 in 3 people are earning stuff all a week. That is truly sickening. ************************************************** To post a message to austechwriter, send the message to austechwriter@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe to austechwriter, send a message to austechwriter-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with "subscribe" in the Subject field.
