Every 3-6 months one manager or another arbitrarily asks us to detail how
much time we spent on specific projects vs. R&D. Thanks to Outlook Journal I
can extract everything from the requested time period to Excel, sort,
categorise, sum up the time spent and respond back to them within the hour.

I also recently proved that the product documentation for our latest
software release took literally double the amount of time to produce
compared to an earlier release in the same period last year (no wonder I was
stressed)! :)

Warren, I would be interested to know how you track phone calls...

It has been very reliable for me. No, it doesn't slow down the computers I
have been using it on for nearly six years.

I am using it to track everything, from phone calls, task times, meetings,
whatever. It is useful for all sorts of things. I would be a bit lost
without it now, especially my invoicing. Incidentally, I went to Journal
from a timesheet spreadsheet system, and it has proven to be very efficient.
It does lovely searches and so on. Very efficient. I am also using it over
Business contact manager, which fowls up MSSQL for everything else you might
care to use...

Warren

You people should try Outlook Journal. Turn on the option to track Office
documents. Incredible.

Is this the same Outlook Journal that slowed your PC down when it first came
out? So much that everyone disabled it? I tend to not go back to MS
software once I've been burned. Certainly wouldn't be relying on it to find
my files for me!

But each to their own.
