Ok - Me too - curious that is. Like Suzy, business contact manager got ditched because it fouled up the works. I checked through all the options in standard Outlook to see if anything would work for me. At the time I cruised through Journal, saw a shambles of a list there of every email, document etc I had used, and just didn't hang around long enough to work out how to use it. So Warren, how do you use it? Do you control it in some way or just use it for reference? However, I have been using Outlook Notes for project managing. I have so many jobs either on the go or stacked up, or just done, that I can never remember everything on my job list. I forget a book as soon as it is done. I tried to record it in Word, Excel et al, and never kept it up to date. Now I make a Note for every book and have a range of Categories (colours) that indicate what I have to do with that book. By using numbering cleverly I can move things up and down the display list if I change the order or priority of the work, which I have to do all the time. It creates a lovely coloured visual display that I can then capture with SnagIt, and send to the sales staff letting them know what books have been delivered, and which ones are still on the list at what priority. In other words, I have used it to create something like an issues register that looks good enough for sales people to use it for reference. And amazingly for me, I am keeping it up to date. I could probably have forced Tasks to do the same thing, if I had started there instead of Notes. -----Original Message----- From: austechwriter-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:austechwriter-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Warren Lewington Sent: Tuesday, 23 September 2008 9:55 PM To: austechwriter@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: atw: Re: File Paths It has been very reliable for me. No, it doesn't slow down the computers I have been using it on for nearly six years. I am using it to track everything, from phone calls, task times, meetings, whatever. It is useful for all sorts of things. I would be a bit lost without it now, especially my invoicing. Incidentally, I went to Journal from a timesheet spreadsheet system, and it has proven to be very efficient. It does lovely searches and so on. Very efficient. I am also using it over Business contact manager, which fowls up MSSQL for everything else you might care to use... Regards; Warren
