Technical Writer - Contractor
Position Available
Position Title: Technical and Marketing Copywriter
Responsible for: Providing technical and marketing communications expertise to
tender input, operational process description and basic brochure writing for
activities normally handled in-house by the tender and marketing teams.
Reports To: Managed Services Practice Manager or Marketing Co-ordinator
(working with the tender team).
Supervises: No supervisory responsibilities.
Main Activities: Assisting in cleaning up existing tender documents, including
new market terminology and removing traces of pre-merge documentation.
Assisting in the production of information to be included in generic tender
documents and other publications such as product brochures.
Developing operational manuals in conjunction with tender and operational teams
for inclusion in tenders and white papers. Includes some diagrammatic or CAD
work for flow charts.
Key Skills: Must have good oral and written communication skills and a
technical understanding of IT contracts and contractual management. Ability to
liaise at all levels inside the company.
Good Microsoft Word and Visio skills are essential.
This is a hands-on position, requiring the incumbent to undertake a variety of
activities. The ideal person would be adaptable to change, and able to act on
their own initiative.

Marketing Co-ordinator.
Typical Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a related area, such as
collateral development, professional tender writing, or journalism. May have
tertiary qualifications or equivalent in Marketing, Communications or
Journalism. Should have worked in ICT for at least 1 year.
