Wrong, Sean (O.D-H).

Let's see...

How did they build the great pyramids at El Giza?
a. Aliens built them, cutting the stone with laser beams and popping the
blocks into place with tractor beams from their flying saucers.
b. Slaves cut huge stone blocks with microscopic accuracy, using hand
tools, then pushed them hundreds of kilometres from the nearest quarries,
using the last remaining trees as rollers, then were lifted into place by
goodness knows what.
c. Nobody built them - they're a hologram projected to confuse the tourists.
d. They were formed out of a superior concrete that was poured into place,
block by block, making all the seams look perfect.

According to a geology conference of a few years ago (that was promoted in
The Age, back in July 1998) if you said "d", go to the top of the class for
choosing the only likely method.

They're concrete, mate! (Small pink Grollo mixer trucks have been found
buried nearby, not!)

Full of crushed stone from nearby quarries, sure, but they are made from
something far better than our so called modern concrete - a geopolymer of
all sorts of goodies. The investigating geologists even found flow lines
in the stone.

How else could the Egyptians have built them in less than the lifetime of a
pharaoh?

BTW, I hear that In-design is ace. Would love to attend but it's a 1000
kilometre hike up the Hume. Hope the meeting is a success.

Sincerely,

Michael Granat
