InDesign is a page layout and design platform from Adobe, first shipped in
1999. At the time at the launch roadshow Adobe people said that they hoped
it might make a dent in QuarkXPress's user base.

Since then, InDesign has won MacAddict Best Software Product of the Year and
many more awards. And by now, according to Nick Hodge of Adobe Systems,
'InDesign has stolen the lead from Xpress'. Is it a cross between
Illustrator and FrameMaker? Is it an alternative to QuarkXPress but at half
the price?

And what is its relevance to us technical writers?

Nick Hodge will tell us at the ASTC's next meeting.

Date? Wednesday 27 August 2003.

Time? 6pm.

Where? ... Sydney Mechanics School of Arts, level 1, 280 Pitt Street, Sydney
