I have a telescoping cane. They are not as durable for outside traveling but they don't take up much space. It depends upon what your needs are, I'd say.

For those of you who have never seen such a cane, it is sort of like a candy cane in shape, only the crook at the top isn’t as long. So easy to hang up, and if used right can be used to protect your hand when trailing. Less likely to drop down a manhole too *lol*. But to have that you would pay more, and not practical for folding or telescoping.
