Hi Ron,
this reply assumes that you've got 2.1.0 which you may well have.
If you move to the audio position control, you can read its value again by
pressing insert+up arrow. If you press insert+down arrow for "say all" then
jaws does get stuck reading out numbers, which are just a jumbled mess. So just
stick to using insert+up arrow.
David.

This doesn't sound like a way to have JAWS read the time elapsed as a recording
is happening. It did with the old Audacity, but now during a recording, if I go
to "Say All," in JAWS, instead of the elapsed time it says 00, 00, 00 and so
forth.

Hi Don,
The playback or recording position is shown by the audio position control on
the selection bar. You can get to this by pressing ctrl+f6 to move to the
selection bar, and tabbing till you reach the control. To return to the tracks,
press ctrl+f6 twice.
Note that the jaws script for audacity provides both a keystroke to read this
position, and a keystroke to read the state of audacity, that is
stop/record/record paused/etc. Perhaps someone else could give you details of
where to download this script if you're interested.
David.

Not sure.
I want to hear the time as I am recording, so if I hit “Pause,” I know it is
paused.

Are you using the scriptset for JAWS? I am.
If playback is stopped: When I press the left or right bracket to set a start
or end point, a dialog comes up with the actual time of the selection. If I
hit enter, it dismisses the dialog.
If the file is playing: When I press the left or right bracket to mark a start
or end point, the time is spoken but no dialog is presented.
I'm not sure what happens if the scriptset isn't used.
Does that help?
Best,
David

Hi all
I just downloaded the newest Audacity.
I use Windows 7 and JAWS 15.
When recording, instead of saying the elapsed time it keeps saying 00 00 00
and so on.
Any ideas how to stop that and get it to say the elapsed time, something I need
to know?
Thanks.
