Hi KimsanBelow are steps to enable stereo mix. This is the tip collected by my self to work with recording program
Enable stereo mix on windows vista or later If you use Windows vista or later, do the folowing step Open control panel Open sound Navigate to recording page Tab to the list view, and hit the application key Down arrow to the options called show disable devices, and press enter. You should see the stereo mix in the list. Note If you hear: show disable devices check, then you don't need to hit enter. Not all sound card have stereo mix, so don't worry if you don't see it in the

So it can playback fru headphones if you choose the USB headset under the jaws soundcard menu, because that is for playback only, not for recording. You must go to control panel /sound/recording and check what you have there, and once those are set correctly you can set inside audacity the correct input. Those are what I see under the sound card submenu and the one that is checked Is the uSB headset. I have switched between the headset and the others and when recording, the jaws is still heard in the recording. Could you tell me what sound cards do you have, and what did you set in your sound card sub menu in Jaws. 2. Check the input of your recording software. If you use audacity, Press Shift+i. ----- Original Message ----- From: Kimsan <mailto:kimsansong@xxxxxxx> To: audacity4blind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, January 23, 2013 1:12 PM Subject: [audacity4blind] Re: another beginner question I should've mentioned I have made all the changes in the sound card submenu and when playing back the recording, when I tap a key, during the recording, it is still heard. Go to JAWS > Utilities > Soundcards and change the setting to Speakers / Headphones or where ever your headset is plugged into. This should separate the speech output from the recording source.
